Spring Inn Apartment + Studio

By booking the apartment and studio together, you’ll have comfortable accommodation for 10 to 14 guests. It’s ideal for a large family or group of friends who want to holiday together while still having a little space of their own.

The 140 m² apartment sleeps 8 to 10 guests and has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The compact studio sleeps 2 to 4 guests and is especially well suited to a family with young children. Everyone can gather in the apartment, while the studio offers a separate place to unwind.

Both properties have comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a good shower. Bed linen and towels are included. After a day in the mountains, you can relax in our wellness area with a sauna and whirlpool.

Spring Inn is in Schattenhalb, close to Meiringen, the Aare Gorge and the Reichenbach Falls. It’s a great base for skiing, hiking, trail running, cycling and exploring the Haslital together.

Spring Inn is about 350 metres from the Meiringen Alpbach stop. From there, you can take the MIB train towards Innertkirchen, with a stop at the Aare Gorge along the way. In the other direction, it’s just a few minutes to Meiringen station, with train connections to Interlaken Ost, Brienz and Lucerne.

The bus stop is also nearby. PostBus 164 runs from Meiringen, Alpbach Sportanlagen to Meiringen station and, in the other direction, through Schattenhalb towards Rosenlaui and Schwarzwaldalp. Timetables vary by day and season.

The cable car to the Meiringen-Hasliberg ski area is about 1.1 km from Spring Inn, around a 12-minute walk. Bus 174 also serves the Meiringen, Luftseilbahn stop, right by the cable car. You can board at Willigen, Unterdorf; the ride takes about two minutes. Bus 174 runs in both summer and winter, but its timetable varies by day, so check the latest times on sbb.ch before you travel.

To visit the Reichenbach Falls, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the lower station of the historic funicular.

Our accommodation is in the peaceful village of Schattenhalb, home to around 580 residents. From the terrace, you can see and hear the Reichenbach Falls—a special backdrop for sitting outside and enjoying the mountain scenery.

Meiringen is just nearby and has around 4,800 residents.The village offers shops, restaurants and a railway station with train and bus connections. You’ll also find a few small museums, including the Sherlock Holmes Museum, a small cinema and welcoming pubs. In winter, you can go ice skating at the rink or take the cable car up to the Meiringen-Hasliberg ski area.

The Aare Gorge and Reichenbach Falls are also close by. Schattenhalb is a convenient starting point for walks and bike rides, mountain adventures and many other outings in the Haslital. It’s a lovely quiet place to stay, with village amenities and activities close at hand
